Bangkok--24 Dec--FAQ
Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and True Corporation Plc today showcased Thailand's first-ever 5G powered 'Connected Music' performance during a four-day True 5G World event at Siam Square in Bangkok this week. During this demonstration, two parts of a musical performance were synced using a live 5G network and presented as one, for live audiences at two different locations.
This event heralded both Ericsson and True's 5G readiness and leadership as well as demonstrated how 5G can develop robust and efficient ways of creating seamless audience experiences due to the ultra-low latency and jitter rates of the 5G network.
Invited to join the launch event as a VIP guest, Nadine Allen, President of Ericsson (Thailand) provided her view on 5G technology , stating that, "With significantly higher speeds and 10 times lower latency, 5G technology will have a significant impact on both industries and consumers across the world. This Connected Music demonstration is a fine example of 5G's game-changing benefits for performing arts, effectively bringing art and music closer to audiences."
(From left) Present at the True 5G World event were True Corporation Plc's Chairman Suphachai Chearavanont, Thailand's Minister of Digital Economy & Society Bhuddhipongse Punnakanta and the Secretary General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission ,Takorn Tantasith. They are three key people driving 5G development in Thailand with consistent support from Ericsson.
The other use case is the use of hologram technology to broadcast live people from other locations to the event venue, allowing the audience to interact with our hologram DJ as well as two MCs talking to each other in 3D mode on a real-time basis.
