The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) had teamed up with ICONSIAM, The ICONSIAM Residence Corporation Limited, ICONSIAM Superlux Residence Corporation Limited, True Corporation Public Company Limited, along with the main official sponsor Kasikornbank, public and private partners, communities and entrepreneurs along the Chao Phraya River to organize "Amazing Thailand Countdown 2020" at ICONSIAM promising to be the grandest and most spectacular event in welcoming the New Year.
The magnificent event was the official New Year's Eve countdown of Thailand organized under the theme of "Seven Wonders of Blessings" to emphasize that the historical Chao Phraya River is not only a significant tourist attraction but also the country's landmark and the global countdown destination where people tune in from all over the world to ring in the New Year. The highlight of the event was a stunning display of over 20,000 eco-friendly fireworks in largest diameters, covering a distance of 1,400 meters. A range of fun-packed performances by a parade of entertainers, singers, actors/actresses were presented throughout the night of December 31, 2019 at River Park of ICONSIAM presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul together with TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn. Thailand's leading celebrities cheerfully joined in the fun New Year's Eve celebration on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at River Park of ICONSIAM. Among participating celebrities were Haruethai Jayant Na Ayudhaya, Nasha Jungkankul, Kanokros Kittikachorn, Pattamawadee Sana-narong, Jarospan Svasti Na Ayudhya, Pitcharada Somkul, Kitipak Kasornsirithorn, Saranya Chensukitphanit, Moriya Jutanugarn, Ariya Jutanugarn and Wanraya Wannapong.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand organizes this celebration event in all regions of Thailand including Bangkok and another six secondary provinces of Sukhothai, Phatthalung, Lop Buri, Kalasin, Sa Kaew and Ratchaburi as a way to send happiness and New Year gifts to Thai people and foreign tourists. The Amazing Thailand Countdown 2020 at ICONSIAM is the principal location and the official countdown event of Bangkok. Thanks to the powerful and strong forces of public and private partners, the event gains a remarkable success to become the global countdown destination to celebrate New Year's Eve and welcomes the beginning of another year. It emphasizes Thailand and the historical Chao Phraya River to be recognized as the travel destination and the landmark for people all over the world. The highlight of the splendid phenomenon "Amazing Thailand Countdown 2020" at ICONSIAM on the concept of "Seven Wonders of Blessings" was the magnificent firework show broken down into seven acts, all illustrating auspicious meanings namely the glory, sustainability, prosperity, joy to the world, diamond in the sky, lucky star, and power of love. All seven acts served as the New Year blessings to bring success, happiness and prosperity to all people. The spectacular firework display made of Thai sticky rice - a sustainable and eco-friendly innovation from Japan - featured over 20,000 fireworks with the largest diameters. The dazzling show lit up the sky along the most beautiful curve of the Chao Phraya River over 1,400 meters in length and within 2 kilometers of the venue.
Apart from the main venue at River Park, millions of visitors could also watch the firework show at many hotels along the banks of the Chao Phraya River such as The Millennium Hilton Bangkok, The Peninsula Bangkok, The Royal Orchid Sheraton, The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, The Shangri-La Bangkok, and Lebua at State Tower. The nearby public areas included Holy Rosary Church, Kularb Wittaya School, Royal Thai Marine Sub-Division 2, Sathorn Pier at both Bang Rak and Charoen Nakhon sides, Wat Suwan Pier, Klongsan Pier, Muang Kae Pier, Chaloem Phrakiat Park as well as many government and public venues like CAT Telecom's Tower, River City Bangkok, Lhong 1919, King Power Mahanakhon, Sampheng parking area and other riverside restaurants.
"Amazing Thailand Countdown 2020" phenomenon also presented a range of fun-packed performances and mini concerts by a parade of famous singers, artists and entertainers plus the amazing Interactive Mapping Screen covering 4,000 square meters - the largest mapping screen of Thailand - that allowed visitors to enjoy fun entertainment to the fullest. The joyful activities started since the evening with the performance "Seven Wonders of Blessing" aimed to illustrate the power and auspicious meanings of seven colors including orange, green, yellow, pink, purple, blue and red through the contemporary show enhanced with flowers and contemporary music by 50 performers. Among famous singers joined on the stages included Chilling Sunday,Trinity, Daisy Daisy, Two Popetorn, B5, Nont Tanont, Ton Thanasit, Ice Tamonwan plus special songs featuring three leading singers Jintara Poonlarp, Tor Saksit and Ben Chalatit. Miss Universe Thailand 2019 Paweensuda "Fahsai" Drouin and Miss International 2019 Sireethorn "Bint" Lee-aramwat also joined the stage for the special shows. The highlight was a mini concert by the superstar Nadech Kugimiya while noted rapper "Tong" Twopee Southside wrapped the stage to ring in the New Year.
