Bangkok--27 Jan--outdoor pr
The event has been continually organized to promote and preserve local Thai cultural wisdom to prevent it from extinction.
The Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand or SACICT has selected Thailand's master artisans, master craftsmen and craftsmanship descendants of 2020 and will organize an exhibition and a showcase of their exquisite and contemporary craftworks at the 11th "Identity of Siam". The event will offer a rare opportunity for visitors to meet Thailand's most distinguished crafters and be thrilled by their wonderful masterpieces from 30th January to 2nd February 2020, at Hall EH 101, BITEC, Bangna, Thailand.
Saengrawee Singhawiboon, SACICT's Deputy Chief Executive Officer, said "the main objectives of SACICT are to preserve and promote crafts products as Thailand's local wisdom. Many of local wisdoms have begun to fade in the dimensions of people's lives and some have already been in endangered state which will soon disappear unless they are preserved and transferred to next generations."
"As a result, SACICT has been continually supporting and encouraging crafters by organizing "Identity of Siam" event in order to give recognition to those who help preserve Thai traditional wisdoms as well as those help add more values by modernizing them so that they become in sync with the modern lifestyle. We highly respect them and will constantly give them support in order to prevent Thai treasures from extinction and to help promote both crafters and their graceful crafts to gain more recognition on both the domestic and international markets."
A selection of 2020's master artisans, master craftsmen and craftsmanship descendants is still devoted to a detailed process along with a consideration from the skillful committee who were carefully selected from various crafting branches.
This year, the committee does not focus only on the expertise of the crafters or the impressive design, but also considers the value of the crafts themselves especially those are at risk of extinction. The crafters who protect these endangered crafts should be highly admired, respected and recognized.
"Since the project started, there have been more than 300 crafters who were chosen by SACICT to be among the list of Thailand's master artisans, master craftsmen and craftsmanship descendants. All of them have been being given support in every SACICT event and being promoted through every SACICT channel. All of them also have gained more and more recognition from the publics that their products are highly in demand and are desired by their customers who are willing to be in the waiting lists because they really want to own the masterpieces made by Thailand's top masters"
Both interested Thais and foreigners will be dazzled by Thailand's most valuable handicrafts created by Thailand's master artisans, master craftsmen and craftsmanship descendants of 2020 from across the country.
