Honda R&D Southeast Asia Co., Ltd., the research and development center for Honda’s motorcycle and power products in Southeast Asia, has been strictly following procedures to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection within the organization as advised by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. Today, we regret to announce that one of our associates at the office located at Romklao, Ladkrabang, Bangkok, who was tested for COVID-19 on 24 March, was confirmed to be positive on 28 March. This person is now in isolation and under medical care in a hospital.
This associate went on an overseas
business trip to Brazil on 26 February 2020 and returned to Thailand on 23
March 2020, and immediately underwent self-quarantine at home in line with recommendations
from The Department of Disease
Control, Ministry of Public Health, and the company’s policy
and procedure. Later, this associate developed
a fever, went to a hospital to get tested for COVID-19, and was confirmed to be
positive.
Following the confirmation of the infection,
the company began closely monitoring the symptoms of and provided medical assistance to the infected associate and investigated
whether other associates worked closely with or had personal contact with
the infected
associate after this person’s return to
Thailand. The company would like to
confirm that the infected associate did not have any close contact with other
associates at the office or with any business partners.
Honda R&D Southeast Asia confirms that the situation
will have no impact on
our business
operation. The company will continue to strictly follow measures
to limit the spread of COVID-19 as recommended by the
Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. The company will inform you if there
are any updates regarding this situation.
