Chubb Samaggi Insurance Public Company Limited (Chubb Samaggi Insurance) today announced the launch of its community outreach initiative to support those facing increasing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 'The Pantry of Sharing by Chubb,’ encourages those in the community to take only what they need from the pantry and share with others if they can. Fifteen pantries have been set up, one at each of Chubb Samaggi Insurance’s branches in Thailand with the official kick-off at the Nakhon Pathom branch.
While the health crisis arising from the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand has been well managed, the economic and societal impacts will continue for some time. This has resulted in many losing their jobs while others having to face unprecedented challenges.
Mr. Andrew Nisbet, Country President of Chubb Samaggi Insurance Public Company Limited said, “For Chubb Samaggi Insurance, we see the 'Pantry of Sharing’ as a great opportunity for us to give back to the communities in which we live and work, especially to support those struggling at this time. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have witnessed the kindness that Thais have for one another in helping those in need. We have donated essential goods and supplies and have also invited our business partners to join us in sharing by donating necessities for the pantry. We want those who are facing hardship to know that they can come to our pantries and help themselves to what they need. In doing so, we aim to create a virtuous cycle of happiness for both those who give and receive.”
Inside each 'Pantry of Sharing by Chubb’ are relief items such as rice, dried food, canned food, drinking water, snacks, instant drink powder sachets, milk cartons and more. During the launch at the Nakhon Pathom branch, Mr. Nisbet together with employees, distribution partners, and Chubb’s garage network representatives handed out 200 pre-prepared meals, drinking water and basic necessities to the public, while observing social distancing guidelines.
