September, 2020, depa Building Ladprao – The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) approved promotions and support for 40 development projects under the depa Digital Transformation Funds for Community to accelerate the adoption of digital technology and innovation in communities nationwide. It aims to improve the quality of life of people in communities and to drive the competitiveness of community enterprises as well as helping to revitalize the local economy in a sustainable way. It is expected to generate no less than 10 million baht in income for communities and households.
Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of depa, said Mr. Buddhipongse Punnakanta, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), assigned the depa to provide support and assistance to businesses across segments to promote the adoption of digital technologies and innovation, especially community enterprises and entrepreneurs in communities and rural areas. The digital technologies and innovation will collectively help optimize the efficiency of business management and enhance the overall business performance. The digital solution also helps raise income for community enterprises, enabling them to become more commercially viable in the modern business landscape in the long run. It is also a crucial factor to help revive the local economy and drive growth of community enterprises.
“The depa’s promotions and support under the depa Digital Transformation Funds for Community will allow communities to select an appropriate digital technology and solution that suits their needs and type of their businesses. The depa will not figure out any solution or even do anything in favor of them, but the depa will encourage all parties concerned to learn and analyse in order to promote learning, analytical thinking and scrutinizing before adopting and taking advantage of any digital technology and solution. Such a thought-provoking and learning process will help level up their business performances and elevate the quality of life of people in each community with sustainability. It also helps move Thailand forward to the digital economy and society” said the President/CEO of depa.
