Aetna International appoints Damian J. Delaney as Managing Director for Aetna Thailand

Bangkok--21 Sep--Aetna International Aetna International (a CVS Health Company), has appointed Damian J. Delaney as Managing Director for Aetna Health Insurance (Thailand) Plc. This follows Aetna Thailand’s No. 1 ranking in the health insurance category by the Thai General Insurance Association in August for more than 10 years running, and their recent Business+ “2020 Product Innovation Award” win for Aetna’s newly launched vHealth proposition. Mr. Damian J Delaney brings 25 years of international insurance, healthcare and financial services experience to the role and will be based in Bangkok to lead operations and accelerate the company’s developments in the Thai market. Mr. Damian J Delaney, commented on his new role, “Aetna has a well-established presence in Thailand and is the market leader specialising in health insurance for individuals, families, SME’s and corporates. I am excited to lead this experienced team at such a critical time for the industry’s development. With advancements in technology, data analytics and consumer behaviours evolving so rapidly, we need to accelerate our innovation agenda to increase efficiency, whilst improving health outcomes for our customers.” Prior to joining Aetna Thailand, Mr. Delaney was Managing Director for Aetna Korea where he led their Population Health Solutions business, developing and delivering complex healthcare data infrastructure and analytics projects for local government, academia and the nation’s leading insurance group. In addition, Mr. Delaney took on an interim role overseeing Aetna’s Indian vHealth (Virtual Health) business, a highly innovative, fast growing telemedicine and digital health services platform serving the preventative and primary healthcare needs of more than 3.5 million customers nationwide. Before joining Aetna International, Mr. Delaney held a series of local, regional and global roles across corporate functions with companies like Prudential Corporation Asia, HSBC and Citibank. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Finance) from the University of Western Sydney and his MBA from London Business School.
