ข่าวเศรษฐกิจ Friday October 2, 2020 13:32 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

A sugarcane planter donated by Yanmar YANMAR S.P. Co., Ltd, a leader in agricultural machinery technology in Thailand, has donated 100 sugarcane planters to Kumphawapi Sugar Company Limited and Agriculture Sugar Company Limited in Udon Thani Province. Yanmar vice president, Mr. Takahashi Nobuaki, presided over the ceremony to deliver the sugarcane planters for use by sugar factories. This is a part of a cooperation project to improve the quality of sugarcane farming with modern technology, co-invented by Yanmar, sugar factories and local farmers. The planters will dramatically increase the efficiency of the sugarcane planting in the dry season, delivering cost savings and a sustainable increase in productivity.

The planters increase the efficiency of sugarcane planting.

Yanmar sugarcane planters can be operated with 70 HP to 100 HP tractors. The compact planters plant sugarcane at a depth of 25 to 30 centimeters which is the optimum range for healthy plants. The multi-functional planters can cut, plant, fertilize and fill soil at the same time, which means that farmers can easily plant cuttings of equal sizes for a consistent high-quality yield. With sugarcane planting in the dry season, a spacing of 25-centimeters between plants and 160-centimeters between rows increases chances for sprouting, establishes stable root depth, strengthens sugarcane stems, and reduces fallen stems, resulting in higher yield and quality over the 3-4 year period of the crops? productive cycle.

Apart from sugarcane planters, Yanmar also develops a wide range of products and technologies to introduce new innovations to farmers nationwide. For more information, please visit www.yanmar.co.th.
