After a busy start to the year, Thai racing driver Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik was ready for the first round of the Thailand Super Series, which was scheduled to take place at the inaugural Vietnam F1 Grand Prix, in Hanoi. However, as we have all experienced first-hand, the world took a sharp turn into the unknown.
Many months later, after countless reiterations of the racing season, Sandy is ready to go racing again. Thailand Super Series will host it's first race of the year at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, on the 30th October - 1 November. These dates were originally the dates for Thailand Super Series' final round, but after an unusual year for us all, the championship will now start at the time of year it was scheduled to finish.
Sandy has maintained a high fitness level and mental preparation for the duration of this extended break. "It has been a strange year for us all, it feels surreal to be starting the season at this stage, but I'm thankful to finally be going racing again. After doing a lot of e-racing, it really feels good to be preparing for the real thing now. I've been keeping fit in the gym and for the past few months have added Muay Thai to my training schedule. I feel ready and very excited to be back behind the wheel of my B-Quik Absolute Racing Audi R8 GT3 Evo!" Says Sandy.
This year Sandy will be partnered by Thailand Super Series' GT3 AM Champion Daniel Bilski in the #1 B-Quik Absolute Racing Audi R8 GT3. "I'm very excited to be sharing the car with Daniel this year, I'm sure that together we will make a potent force in our quest for the Pro-Am Championship this season. Daniel has 3 wins from last season, so he's more familiar than me with the top-step of the TSS podium! Together we will do our best against the competition. I have heard that this year's grid - despite the global situation - is looking very promising, and that is thanks to all the hard work that has been done by Racing Spirit and Thailand Super Series." Says Sandy.
B-Quik Absolute Racing Team has prepared Sandy's Audi R8 GT3 Evo to perfection as usual, and the team is planning a shakedown to make sure all systems and functions operate as they should. The team will be slightly smaller than usual due to the current travel restrictions in place. "It will be very important for us to create clear communication to and from my engineer Duarte, as he is a crucial part of the team that will be missing during these races. We are currently finding the best solution to communicate with him, so that we can set the car up as well as we can for the season. It will be a challenge, but it will be the same for many teams on the grid." Explains Sandy.
