Yanmar Company Limited, manufacturer and distributor of agricultural machinery including tractors, rice and sugarcane harvesters and other agricultural equipment, has announced the appointment of Mr. Nobuhiko Kashiwagi as the new President of Yanmar SP Company Limited. Mr. Kashiwagi takes over the position from previous president, Shinji Suenaga. While Mr. Kashiwagi's appointment began effective June 1, 2020, the Thailand coronavirus lockdown has meant that he has had to wait until October to enter Thailand.
Mr. Kashiwagi worked at Yanmar Headquarters in Japan for more than 30 years before being taking up an assignment to direct the Yanmar company in South Korea, a post he held for 6 years. His working experiences in Japan and overseas have contributed to his expertise in domestic and international sales and strategic planning for the agricultural machinery business. His newly appointed position in Thailand is considered a big challenge as the country is one of the leaders in global agriculture. The appointment represents a significant opportunity to promote the growth of Yanmar's business in Thailand.
Mr. Kashiwagi will draw upon his own working experiences in Japan and overseas to drive the Company's business operations in Thailand, focusing on farmers, distributors, employees as well as business alliances and partners to build trust in order to achieve growth and stability. He also has plans to expand Yanmar business operations in Thailand by expanding the customer base and supporting Thai farmers with Yanmar's modern farming innovation to reduce costs, raise quality and boost produce. "Yanmar has been working to gain the trust of Thailand's farmers for more than 40 years," says Kashiwagi. "With our Yanmar Smart Agriculture technology, we're committed to delivering value, service and a better quality of life to Thailand's farmers."
