Homegrown food delivery app "Robinhood" was developed by SCB 10X subsidiary Purple Ventures to help food and beverage sector players weather the current economic crisis, especially small eateries. The app recently partnered with King Power Rangnam food court "Thai Taste Hub" to feature 33 legendary street food stalls featuring dishes from around Bangkok. This marks the first time that "Thai Taste Hub" food will be available on a food delivery platform, and exclusively via "Robinhood" before expanding service to Mahanakhon Cube branch. This partnership supports and boosts sales by food merchants as no gross profit (GP) fees are charged, while customers can conveniently enjoy food from different food stalls on the same order and with the same prices and portions as shop-front or dining-in options. Purple Ventures plans partnerships with other leading corporations to further support small players like small eateries via the "Robinhood" platform to generate jobs and opportunities for those affected by unemployment.
Purple Ventures Managing Director Srihanath Lamsam recently talked about the "Robinhood" food delivery platform developed and provided by the company. "Robinhood's key goal is to support small players, both eateries and delivery riders, currently struggling economically due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We offer an opportunity for them to join the "Robinhood" platform with no GP charge, and we have received a warm welcome from small shops. Currently there are some 23,000 shops available on the platform, increasing by 7,000 shops from late October. This figure reflects just how useful our service has become for our target group."
"Apart from sending our team members to visit and invite small eateries, shops in their neighborhoods, and those never previously available on other platforms to join Robinhood, we also discuss partnerships with leading corporations with the same purpose and goal of supporting "small players." Our recent partnership with "Thai Taste Hub" will support 33 legendary street food stalls at King Power Rangnam food court featuring dishes from around Bangkok to boost their sales opportunities. This is the very first time that "Thai Taste Hub" food will be available on a food delivery platform."
King Power Vice President F&B and Theater Division Pavat Lertvatrakan said that, "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of tourists visiting "Thai Taste Hub" has declined. Food stall tenants have been further impacted by lock-down and social distancing measures. King Power is well aware of their concerns and we have sought solutions to support and closely take care of our tenants. In discussions with Robinhood we discovered that we share the same goal, namely to support small merchants. And we were very pleased to learn that Robinhood does not charge GP fees. We therefore decided to make the 33 food stalls at the King Power Rangnam "Thai Taste Hub" food court available on a food delivery platform for the first time, exclusively on Robinhood before expanding service to Mahanakhon Cube branch. Customers can enjoy street food from different stalls on the same order while at the same time help promote sales opportunities for these eateries. We hope this partnership will help boost sales for our small tenants. And with no GP charged by Robinhood, customers can enjoy tasty food at the same prices and quality as when dining in at our food court."
