Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. recently finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chiangmai University (CMU) that aims to equip students with ICT skills, and prepare them for successful careers in the new digital era. As part of the Huawei ICT Academy program, the partnership between the two parties will enhance advanced IT knowledge through practical courses and on-the-job training. Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, President of Chiangmai University, and Mr. Jason Peng, Vice President, Enterprise Business Group of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. signed the documents during the ceremony held at Chiang Mai University.

Under this academic alliance, Huawei will provide CMU with knowledge and training resources on advanced network technology, leveraging on its decades of industry expertise in the ICT field. Both parties will also explore practicable opportunities for CMU students to learn while integrating into a real work environment, using tools and resources from the Huawei ICT Academy program. To ensure readiness to compete in the digital labor market, eligible students will be given a chance to participate in two of Huawei's flagship ICT skills promotion initiatives: Huawei ICT Competition and Huawei ICT Job Fair. This collaboration is in line with the tech firm's long-standing commitment to improve the employability of young people in Thailand by enhancing their skills and productivity even before they graduate and enter the job market.

After the MOU signing ceremony, Mr. Jason Peng handed over Huawei's Routing and Switching Lab Equipment and Huawei IdeaHub, a smart whiteboard for collaborative learning, to Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, President of Chiangmai University, to support the teaching-learning process.

Under the Huawei ICT Academy, the company looks forward to forging more alliances with other educational institutions to help Thailand develop a highly-skilled workforce and build a strong and sustainable ICT ecosystem to drive Thailand's digital economy.
