  • The only Thai real estate developer listed on the DJSI World for three consecutive years

Central Pattana Plc., operator of CentralwOrld, CentralPlaza, CentralFestival, Central Phuket and Central Village is standing firm as Thailand's top leading real estate developer, aiming to create good quality of life for customers and society while developing its shopping centers and growing alongside its partners for the past 40 years. Central Pattana is the only real estate developer in Thailand to receive the world-class award of being listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for three consecutive years and in the Emerging Markets for seven consecutive years. This reinforces confidence in the company's business strength and practices as well as ability to adapt to change and to be a major force to help support the country's further development.

Listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, Central Pattana has the highest corporate value in the real estate sector and is the first and only Thai real estate company in to be listed on DJSI World 2020. This is an indicator of sustainability for the world's leading companies. It is also used as a benchmark for investment consideration: being recognised in the global business community as a DJSI listed member means the ability to generate solid and sustainable returns for investors.

By operating the business under the principle of good governance, the company consistently takes into account sustainability in three areas: economic, social and environmental. These are:

1) Economic: helping create developments in different areas along with opportunities for entrepreneurs; generating employment, local income earning, local SMEs promotion, and the development of small entrepreneurs including various projects that help stimulate the national economy.

2) Social: helping promote arts and culture and building a better standard of living in communities; helping establish meeting and recreation areas as well as organising various useful activities that meet the needs of communities.

3) Environmental: aiming to create sustainability under the 'Journey to Zero' programme in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and pollution by promoting the use of alternative energy and the efficient use of resources such as using solar cells in shopping centers, recycling water, and proper waste management etc.

In 2020, the company has adjusted its business strategy to cope with the COVID-19 situation alongside effective cost and expenditure management. Third quarter results showed solid performance, with total revenue of 7,599 million baht and net profit of 2,481 million baht - a significant recovery from the second quarter. The first nine-month outlook of 2020 was well-managed, with total revenue of 23,753 million baht and net profit of 7,540 million baht.

Central Pattana currently operates 34 shopping centers comprising a total net leasable area of 1.8 million m2 (15 projects in Bangkok and perimeter, 18 projects in provincial Thailand and 1 project in Malaysia), 30 food courts, 10 office buildings, 2 hotels, and 15 residential projects consisting of condominiums under the brands: ESCENT, ESCENT VILLE, ESCENT PARK VILLE, PHYLL PAHOL 34 and BELLE GRAND RAMA 9, and low-rise projects under the brands: ESCENT TOWN Phitsanulok (townhomes), Ninya Kallapaphruek (Semi-detached housing), Niyham Baromrajchonnee Project (luxury housing estate), Nirati Chiang Rai and Nirati Bang Na (both single-detached housing). The company continues to progress with new projects development as stipulated in its long-term plan. The mixed-use projects currently under development are CentralPlaza Ayutthaya, CentralPlaza Si Racha (scheduled to open in 2021), CentralPlaza Chanthaburi (scheduled to open in 2022) and Dusit Central Park on a prime location called 'Super Core CBD' in Bangkok, which will open in phases from 2023-2024 onwards.
