Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL), a member of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan's largest financial group, and one of the world's largest financial groups, opened its new EEC offices at Si Racha in Chonburi province and Rayong, as part of a plan to enhance service capabilities to support customers in the high-potential Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The opening of EEC offices reflects the strength of collaborative synergies between Krungsri's local expertise and MUFG's global network to provide value-added financial services to Japanese and multinational corporate customers as well as Thai companies, underscoring the Bank's commitment to promoting foreign direct investment and new investment to support Thailand's economic recovery.

Mr. Yoshiyuki Horio, Krungsri Head of Japanese Corporate and Multinational Banking (JPC/MNC Banking), said "Krungsri places importance on business promotion initiatives, especially investment promotion in the EEC, set to be developed into a leading economic zone in ASEAN in coming years. Krungsri's new EEC offices will be a linkage not only for Japanese and multinational companies investing in the high potential industrial estate, but also Thai companies which seek support for regional expansion push. Krungsri, as the leader in the Japanese corporate market in Thailand, has competitive capabilities to provide a wide range of value-added financial products and services to Japanese, multinational corporate customers and Thai companies through synergies between Krungsri's local expertise and MUFG's global network. These enables Krungsri to facilitate both domestic and international transactions, making it more convenient for customers with one contact point in the EEC area which covers three eastern provinces of Thailand - Chonburi, Rayong and Chachoengsao."

"With our aspiration to become a major ASEAN financial powerhouse, it is very important for Krungsri to be the first call business partner in supporting the sustainable growth of our customers. The strategically located region like the EEC has seen as the growth engine for the Thai industries going forward, Krungsri recently set up the EEC Department to provide customers with a variety of financial services, business information and advisory services. To establish business network and strengthen relationship with major public and private agencies in the three provinces, we have worked closely with the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) to facilitate and support customers in the EEC area. Going forward, the Si Racha office and Rayong office will be the center for Krungsri where both Japanese and Thai officials are available to provide more close communication, services and reach out EEC customers" Mr. Horio added.
