The Prime Minister presided over the ceremony and handed over national policy to the Minister of Digital Economy and Society and Thailand Post, the leader in national transportation. In order to accelerate the potential of household networks accessibility and integrate with digital technology. This is to further enhance the excellencies of the quality of health care services for Thai people by flying a drone to deliver medicines providing convenience in difficult situations or areas with transportation limitation, either the Covid-19, Flooding, or in remote areas.
General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister, reveals that recently, Thai people have been dealing with all-around crises, but getting back up is never too hard because of the tight corporations of all people and sectors, who are well-prepared for any changes, such as the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in Thailand that is well controlled. Even though all measures are not 100% comprehensive, it represents good signs of cooperation to improve the overall situation. Therefore, the policy has been given to all agencies to jointly improve the quality of life of the people, especially the introduction of digital technology as an important part of the integration and support for the development of modern health care services that will further allow Thai people to easily access the services equally.
Mr. Chaiwut Thanakhamanusorn, Digital Economy and Society (DES) Minister, states that the ministry has responded to the policy by using the transport potential and the comprehensive network that covers every household in the country in the system of Thailand Post, a complete logistics service provider, who is specialized in distributing medical equipment to hospitals across the country and delivering medicines and medical supplies from hospitals to patients and patients in the "Home Isolation-Community Isolation" Project combined with high-performance - high-precision digital technology devices such as "drones" and developed into a distribution vehicle to deliver medicines and necessary equipment to patients at home.
Dr. Danan Suphatthaphan, President of Thailand Post Co., Ltd., mentions that Thailand Post is ready to operate in accordance with governmental and ministry policies, beginning with the initiative to be the first medicines distributor from the hospital to the patient's home in Thailand. This has in return, gained trust from more than 400 users and hospitals as a distributor of medical items or equipment that need special attention, such as temperature maintenance. Furthermore, creating a campaign "Thai Post Deliver Inviting Thai people to Stay Home" that corresponds with servicing people during the COVID-19 situation which allows patients in all areas to access to medical services equally and universally. In addition, Thailand Post also supports the project to deliver medicines and medical supplies, including field beds, to field hospitals across the country. This further highlights Thailand Post's reputation in enhancing the quality of health care services and reaching remote areas.
"Thailand Post has distributed medicines, medical supplies and medical equipment to people nationwide speedily and accurately adhering to the explicite EMS Standard, rest assured by the Track&Trace system that allows customers to trace the delivery status. Even though, in the midst of Covid-19 situation in 2020-2021, Thailand Post has been able to actively operate and distribute medicines to each and every patient, a total number of more than 1 million pieces. Recently, Thailand Post has responded to Ministry policy to undertake medicines delivery via Drone to reach remote areas in Singburi, with the hope that this would be the beginning of Digitalized Health Care Services providing a safe and efficient distribution without having to leave the house. This project will be further developed with partners who have expertise in the area to jointly transform the transportation industry in the country"
