King Mongkut's Hospital Foundation Aims to Carry on Royal Determinations - Raise Level of Thai Public Health to become Center of Medical Innovation in ASEAN

King Mongkut - Chaokhunthahan Hospital Foundation (KMCH Foundation) under the Patronage of the Supreme Patriarch together with Faculty of Science, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology (KMITL) jointly carried on the wishes of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, in medicine and public health. This is to continuously elevate the accessibility of the public health treatment for Thai people at all levels with medical innovation of Thai people for Thai people in 3 areas: personnel - knowledge - innovation to support becoming the first comprehensive medical innovation research hospital in Thailand and ASEAN. There is also an auction event of the portraits of King Rama IX with the handprint of the Supreme Patriarch by "Arjarn Dinhin Rakpong-Asoke" to support the construction. The event was recently held at the Auditorium, 6th Floor, Radio and Television Operations Building, MCOT Plc.

Prof Dr Suchachwee Suwansawat, Chancellor of the King Mongkut - Chaokhunthahan Hospital Foundation under the Patronage of the Supreme Patriarch and President of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), said that King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), an innovative educational institution that has been in Thai society for over 6 decades, has stepped forward to being a social university that continues the royal wishes of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the reign of King Rama IX, who developed and laid the foundation for Thai medicine and public health to be stable and sustainable. They start off by proceeding to build ing Mongkut's Hospital which focuses on the development of research and medical innovations to drive advances in medical and public health in Thailand as well as creating opportunities for access to effective treatment for all Thai people at all levels.

Simultaneously, KMITL has been prepared to support the building of the hospital in 3 areas:
1.Personnel - accelerates the production of efficient medical personnel to meet the need of this new era. Recently, the Faculty of Dentistry has been opened for International Programs to mould 'Dental Innovators' to support future treatment. 2. Knowledge - and other courses which aim to strengthen and cultivate graduates with knowledge and expertise, and the skills and creativity to develop medical innovation; and 3. Research and Innovation - the development of practical medical innovations. In the past, such innovations have been successfully introduced into the industrial production process, to distribute to hospitals and public health agencies with high need, both in Thailand and abroad, such as high flow oxygen dispensers, automatic hand ventilators. and a positive pressure test cabinet (Swab Test).

"In order to support the extension of research results as well as pushing medical innovations to become widespread and narrowing the gap in access to public health technologies, this requires cooperation from all sectors. Therefore, we invite Thai brothers and sisters and those who have faith, to donate and be part of the "Haii Puer Sang" to strengthening the Thai public health system to be stable and sustainable forever," concluded Prof Dr Suchachwee.

On the other hand, Assoc. Prof. Prasert Trivijitsilp, M.D., Acting Director of King Mongkut -Chaokhunthahan Hospital (KMCH), added that the King Mongkut's Hospital aims to be a Thai medical innovation research hospital for Thai people by merging cooperation and knowledge from internal departments in both Science and Technology, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, etc., under the cooperation of researchers from various faculties, to support the country's public health and medical systems. This is to help reduce the gap in accessing medical equipment in the other provinces, as well as reducing the import of innovations from abroad that are worth more than 70,000 million baht per year. Currently, the hospital is in the process of construction, which has recently performed the piling ceremony. The hospital is expected to be completed and ready to serve the public in 2024.

In addition, Assoc Prof Dr Sutee Chutipaijit, Dean of the Faculty of Science King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, said that on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the King. Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, December 5, Faculty of Science by the cooperation of alumni and current students, therefore organized an auction event, the "Haii Puer Sang", for the auction of 8 portraits of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the reign of King Rama IX, with the handprint of Somdej Phra Sangkharat, by "Arjarn Din Hin Rakpong-Asoke", an artist who specializes in painting portraits with special techniques from charcoal. This is to be a part of the fundraising for the building of the King Mongkut's Hospital, the First Medical Research Innovation Hospital in Thailand. The 8 portraits received great attention from the participants and generated a total auction amount of 2,100,000 baht.

The event was held at the Auditorium, 6th Floor, Radio and Television Laboratory Building, MCOT Plc., jointly by Phra Methivachirodom (Wachiramethi) along with the KMITL management team, Faculty members as well as alumni of the Faculty of Science King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and the press.
