Despite the prolonged nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, and how it has the devastated the hospitality industry, The Ascott Limited in Thailand & Laos never stopped its efforts in helping the community and the less fortunate.
Each of its 15 operating properties in Thailand continued to reach out on a quarterly basis to the assist their local communities over the past year, donating masks, provisions and various necessities to organizations such as Foundation for Slum Child Care, Foundation of Blind Thailand, providing local blessing boxes and blood donation.
This culminated with a combined effort by all properties in December 2021 to donate THB150,000 worth of scholarship to the underprivileged children at Hand to Hand Foundation, a charity organisation based in Pattaya. It was a memorable day for the children to receive toys, lunch boxes and enjoy fun activities with the management and staffs from Ascott Thailand.
The scholarship fund was raised by the Ascott central and property teams in the past year through various fund raising activities including the selling of holiday merchandises, sanitizer sprays, masks and eco-friendly mugs.
Hand to Hand Foundation is a charity group that recognizes children's human rights and protects those who are marginalized, regardless of their race, age or religion by providing services such as helping them to obtain formal education, skills training, food, clothing and even acquire legal documentation and assistance.
Ascott's Country General Manager for Thailand & Laos, Mr Brian Tan, said,
