Bangkok Bank provides knowledge to SME and publishes a free to download eBook called 'Tongtin Inter'

Bangkok Bank provides knowledge to SME and passes on local wisdom from the "Caravan Samranjai" program to the 'Tongtin Inter' book by using local experiences that shine a spotlight on local charms while providing tips to strengthen community enterprises. The book also features good ideas and great products as well as examples of successful and sustainable "community brand" growth. The eBook is free to download, emphasizing the Bank's status as a "trusted partner' to provide useful advice and financial services to enable customers to enhance their businesses potential.

Bangkok Bank Director and Executive Vice President Mr. Thaweelap Rittapirom said the Bank has focused on providing knowledge to entrepreneurs, especially community enterprises, a category of SME that plays an important role in driving Thailand's economy. The aim is to strengthen entrepreneurs' business foundation, so they can continually and sustainably grow and expand business in the country and the region while being able to constantly adjust and cope with changes. The Bank is ready to provide support and knowledge in all areas, including media, useful ideas for business development, loans, business matching with businesses in the same supply chain, introduction to new markets to increase business opportunities as well as financial products and services that meet needs of businesses.

The Bank recently published the 'Tongtin Inter' book which gathers knowledge from "Caravan Samranjai", a TV program sponsored by Bangkok Bank, to tell stories from more than 200 communities nationwide covering many different areas including tourism, lifestyle, art and culture, as well as local wisdom reflected in local products and services. The book was authored by Mr. Suwit Wongrujirawanich, a writer and designer of products based on community identity who is passionate about branding and communication design.

Mr. Suwit Wongrujirawanich said in the book that "Joining trips with Caravan Samranjai by Bangkok Bank gives me opportunities to experience local wisdom and skilled craftsman from small communities nationwide that can be developed into products and services. Different local wisdom is a uniquely local charm of each community which can be used to build an identity to add value to goods and align with the lifestyle, traditions and culture of each community. Design thinking is also used to develop goods to better meet the needs of targeted markets. This does not only make local wisdom contemporary but also passes on craftsman's skills to the next generations."

"In each trip, the program production team from the Bank will invite many creative experts such as graphic and package designers, community product developers, and well-known chefs and creative tourism planners to work with communities and apply knowledge to help fix, improve, and develop local wisdom for community products or services and link them with travel stories to meet the needs of consumers and a new marketing approach. These are done under a concept that knowledge must be simple and leverage a community's foundational resources, ingredients, wisdom and skills, as well as keep operating costs low, so each community can adopt and build a "community brand" in a practical manner. This helps generate income among the grassroots economy, which most of Thailand's population belong to, to enhance quality of life, reduce inequality and strengthen the wider community," said Mr. Thaweelap.

The content in "Tongtin Inter" focuses on the transfer of knowledge in a language that is easy to understand and can be used in practice such as building a community brand, a step-by-step design thinking process, a selection of good ideas and great products from various communities across the country, as well as the success of the communities that have brought ideas and advice from experts to build on success in terms of income and sustainability. This includes places such as Ban Nong Lom Community, Phayao Province, which used new ideas to adapt tourism activities to meet the needs of various groups of tourists, which resulted in the community being named among the Top Ten Community Champions from 462 communities. In addition, it was able to match its business with a travel agency from the Netherlands which has successfully helped expand the market to foreign tourists.

Another example is the community of Ban Km. 32, Betong District, Yala Province, which boasts the Aiyoe Weng sea of clouds as its standout tourist attraction and Darina Pizza or Aiyoe Weng Pizza (Tilapia Pizza) as its signature menu item. The shop owner has used the concept of packaging development from Caravan Samranjai by Bangkok Bank to replace the original packaging with ready-made corrugated paper that is strong, economical and stackable without losing its shape while being able to maintain the temperature of pizza to ensure its deliciousness as if it is eaten in a restaurant. This perfectly answers the needs of food delivery. At the same time, a new logo was designed for the boxes to promote a better image. The results were astounding as the restaurant saw an increase of 30% in the number of customers very quickly. Another outstanding product from the community is Aiyoe Weng coffee. After designing new packaging and promoting the good image of the brand, the product was able to expand its customer base and its sales volume increased by 20%. In addition, it was able to successfully expand the market by being included in the menu of Muanchon Coffee shops across the country.

Mr. Thaweelap said that "Tongtin Inter" is like a collection of experiences and a tool to help transfer useful knowledge to the public, including community enterprises across the country and those interested in doing business so that they can use knowledge and ideas from case studies and experts to further develop and apply them to answer the needs of each region or target group of each business. The Bank published the first edition of 3,000 copies and gave them to libraries, educational institutions, and communities across the country.
