'Shopee', the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, reaffirms its position as the number one e-commerce platform among consumers in Thailand by launching the "Shopee International Platform (SIP)" in partnership with the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce. This partnership will allow Thai businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their quality products to regional consumers conveniently without additional fees through the Shopee platform.

Siwagorn Siriwongpanupong, Director of Business Development, Shopee (Thailand) said, "SMEs are key to the economy of Thailand. Shopee, as the leading e-commerce platform, is committed to supporting sellers and businesses in Thailand. The launch of the 'Shopee International Platform (SIP)' aims to provide local businesses with more business opportunities in the fast-changing digital world. We are honored to be trusted by the Department of International Trade Promotion to work with Thai SMEs through the SIP program. We will also continue to develop our platform in order to effectively support Thai sellers in order to stimulate the digital economy in Thailand sustainably."

The SIP helps Thai sellers and SMEs sell their products to consumers in other countries so that they can conveniently expand their businesses. Shopee will support them in managing their stores such as creating a store in other countries, managing products and stock, chatting with buyers, and shipping products to other countries. The support will be provided free of charge. For a start, Thai sellers can take orders from customers in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Mr. Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, Director General, Department of International Trade Promotion said of this partnership, "The department is very pleased to partner with Shopee and we firmly believe that this is an important step that will drive the country's economy in line with the policy of Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, which focuses on working closely with the private sector to drive exports. One of the main driving forces in the export sector is the promotion of cross-border online trade in association with leading e-Commerce platforms. This accelerated encouraging entrepreneurs of all levels to adapt their businesses online. The department hopes that this SIP program will provide opportunities for entrepreneurs, both exporters and micro traders, so that they are able to sell products through popular online channels to other countries more conveniently. The department has plans to promote stores under the SIP program through the TOPTHAI campaign in the target countries including Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines to increase the demand for purchase and lead to the sales of Thai products."
