In addition to the exhibition and convention center, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani also operates 19 restaurant brands with a total of 29 locations. Recently, the company has launched "Nippon Yokocho" Izakaya-style Japanese restaurant, bringing together five brands under one roof. Located on the 1st floor, Food Atrium, IMPACT Challenger Hall 3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, the restaurant has opened its doors to diners since late last year.
Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Chief Executive Officer of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., said "With the uniqueness of our venues including IMPACT Challenger that welcome at least 10 million visitors a year, restaurant business expansion is therefore a good idea. At IMPACT, there are different styles of restaurants with a diverse food options - ranging from Thai, northeastern Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Hong Kong, Italian, Irish to fusion cuisines - as well as cafes and food courts. Our latest Japanese restaurant "Nippon Yokocho" is a 20-million-baht investment. It offers an extensive selection of Izakaya-style menu items under the concept of "Yokocho". The Japanese word means side street, or alleyway, which is packed with Izakaya-style restaurants and bars, serving as a dining and entertainment hub. Inspired by famous yokocho in Japan's popular tourist spots like Harajuku and Shibuya, "Nippon Yokocho" brings together five restaurant brands under the same roof including 1. Ikusa that offers authentic Japanese-style grilled skewers (Yakitori) and straw-grilled dishes (Warayaki), 2. Tempachi tempura restaurant, 3. Tairyo Maru that serves fresh sashimi and delectable sushi creations, 4. Ton Ton, where you can enjoy a variety of scrumptious pork dishes, and 5. Taiko Udon that offers a wide selection of udon noodle dishes. Chef Yamaguchi Isao, a highly skilled Japanese head chef with over 20 years of experience, is responsible for overseeing the restaurant's operations and creating signature dishes like "Warayaki Katsuo Ainancho Style", a hard-to-find dish made with Katsuo from Kochi Prefecture, "Ebiten Mentai Cream Udon", soft and chewy udon noodles mixed with creamy sauce flavored with Mentaiko, and "Aka Tondemo Spicy Nabe", a well-balanced spicy nabe with pork. Apart from these dishes, customers will be spoiled for choices with more than 150 menu items including sushi, sashimi, Japanese-style steamed beef, rice dishes, teppanyaki, premium A5 wagyu beef, set meals, Hokkaido crab dishes, desserts and drinks. With Nippon Yokocho, customers will have more choices to satisfy individual preferences while indulging in an authentic Izakaya vibe. It is a perfect hangout place for friends and the whole family."
The restaurant's interior design imitates a yokocho in Japan and incorporates bright colors that help create a fun and vibrant atmosphere, with an artistic touch of Japanese paper lanterns. Spanning an area of 392 square meters, the restaurant offers 164 seats and one private dining room. Meanwhile, the open kitchen designed to enable diners to watch the process of food preparation helps enhance the dining experience.
