Tipco Asphalt Announces Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Target by 2030 and Unveils Climate Strategic Projects

Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, a leading asphalt producer and distributor, is proud to announce its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through climate strategies. These serve as parts of our strong dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship while aligning with Thailand's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) which aims to meet the long-term goals of carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero GHG emission by 2065.

With this regard, Tipco Asphalt hereby has established an ambitious target of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by at least 36% by 2030, compared to GHG emissions in the base year 2020. This target only encompasses GHG emissions of the asphalt business in Thailand.

Our GHG emission reduction target will be achieved through climate strategies focusing on a series of climate strategic projects implemented at our head office and asphalt operations facilities in Thailand as follows:

Increase the use of renewable energy sources and explore opportunities for on-site renewable energy generation

Switch fuel from diesel to Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) for the heating system

Convert boiler equipment to electric ones used in our asphalt production facilities

Replace Company's vehicles with electric vehicles (EV)

Manage logistics partners to reduce GHG emissions and invest in electric or fuel-efficient trucks
