Thai racing driver Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik contested the first round of the season in the Thailand Super Series at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand on the 3rd -5th of May.
Sandy once again joined B-Quik Absolute Racing in the Audi R8 LMS Evo GT3 racecar under the Winhere banner. Winhere is a brake manufacturer whom sponsor Sandy's teammate for this season: Deng Yi. Deng is a promising rising star of Chinese motorsport, with TSS being his first ever event away from home.
During Saturday's qualifying sessions Sandy and Deng finished in P3 and P7 in their respective qualifying sessions.
Race 1 took place on Saturday afternoon, with Sandy taking the start before handing over to Deng to finish the first race. The pair finished in 7th position.
Race 2 took place on Sunday midday, with the Chinese driver taking the start before handing over to Sandy who brought the #37 entry home in 5th place to secure a podium in the first race weekend for this driver pairing.
"It was a great feeling to be back racing in the top class again. I had some enjoyable battles on track and together with my teammate Deng we have formed a good foundation to work on for the rest of the season. I look forward to my favourite event of the year at the Bangsaen GP."
The next event of the Thailand Super Series 2024 will take place at the Bangsaen Street Circuit on the 3 to 5 of July.
