MASON, the 5-Star ultra-luxury modern pool villa resort in Pattaya's Na Jomtien, engaged in a release of sea turtles, seagrass planting and beach clean up to promote environmental awareness and participation in the rehabilitation of Thailand's marine ecosystem, marking World Turtle Day on 23 May in line with its "Better Together, Giving Together" concept, acting as an enterprise that cares for the environment and aspires to sustainable growth.
Ms. Pornpun Ratanapitakkul, General Manager of MASON, remarked that MASON is entering its sixth year as an accommodation that, since its first day, has been committed to presenting distinct architectural designs and modernity while growing alongside the environment. Being a seaside resort, MASON is especially dedicated to effectively managing marine ecosystems and engages in sea turtle releases annually on World Turtle Day. The symbolic activity is joined in by MASON staff, who are the main drivers of its aspirations and who learn about its efforts through their participation. This year's release was the third in a row and took place at the Koh Man Nai Sea Turtle Conservation Center in Rayong, a facility that also provides comprehensive knowledge on the animals.
MASON staff were taken on a trip through the Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center (Eastern Gulf of Thailand) and the Sea Turtle Conservation Center (Koh Man Nai) in Rayong before taking part in seagrass growing, sea turtle releases and a cleanup of the local beach. All of this was done under the guidance of center officials who outlined a proper understanding of the environmental contexts and how to apply them to responsible and valuable service.
On top of its annual sea turtle releases, the "MASON BETTER TOGETHER - GIVING TOGETHER" campaign sees the resort constantly carrying out social and sustainability endeavors, such as donating funds and necessities to AIDS patients at the Glory Hut Foundation, forwarding a portion of revenue from MASON Shop sales and concierge activities to various foundations, sponsoring child skill development by teaching gardening at the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center and initiating its own Earth Hour, World Ocean Day and World Environmental Day activities. The environmental work of the resort has led to national and international recognitions, including a Green Hotel Award and Travelife Certificate. MASON even devoted a plot of its own premises to sustainability by planting the organic MASON Secret Garden.
"MASON is ready to not only be a business that prioritizes delivering memorable experiences and services to its guests, but to integrating the sustainable development framework comprised of Environment, Society and Governance, or ESG, into our betterment each day" Ms. Pornpun Ratanapitakkul said.
