Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand) improved its "Financial Facility for Thai Restaurants Overseas" to promote overseas investment in Thai restaurants, in response to the Government's campaign to promote Thai food outlets worldwide.
According to Mr. Sataporn Jinachitra, EXIM Thailand President, to support the Government's "Thai Cuisine for the World" campaign which encourages investment in Thai restaurants abroad, the Bank has revised the terms and conditions under its "Financial Facility for Thai Restaurants Overseas" to better accommodate Thai restaurant entrepreneurs' demand thereby helping to promote Thai cuisine worldwide and realize the Government's goal of making Thailand "the kitchen of the world".
EXIM Thailand President added that those eligible to apply for the "Financial Facility for Thai Restaurants Overseas" must be a Thai national or a juristic person registered in Thailand with a Thai national holding majority shares and assuming full management responsibility. Furthermore, the restaurant owner must have good understanding of the local business environment or have a partner who is familiar with restaurant business in the area enough to succeed. In addition, the restaurant owner must obtain a license to run a restaurant in the country of investment and have at least one year of experience in restaurant management overseas or at least three years of experience in restaurant management in Thailand.
