Bangkok--Apr 30--Total Quality PR (Thailand) AXN Asia launches East Asia broadcast feed for Thailand Feed brings better alignment between action adventure channel and Thai viewing patterns -shows to air one hour later AXN (Ch.38, UBC), the heart of action and adventure television, will launch a dedicated service just for Thailand beginning 3 May 2004. The service is customized specially for viewers in Thailand so as to offer a better match for the channel's award-winning, first running programs with the viewers' viewing patterns. From 3 May, AXN programs will air in Thailand one hour later than they have previously. "The new service achievement gives us several clear cut advantages in the immediate future," said Ricky Ow, AXN Asia's Vice President of Advertising Sales & Programming. "Apart from the current localized commercial feeds in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines on the East Asia service, we have now created a dedicated feed for Thailand, focusing on the desires of our viewers, the most desirable television audience in the country - the attitudinally twenty-something AXN viewer who tunes in every day and night to watch the world's best action-adventure drama series and adventure-reality programs." This decision was based on customer feedback, on going research and cable operator (UBC) input. Mr Ow also pointed towards the need to create a lock-and-key fit between AXN's programming, and viewing patterns of households in Thailand. "The structural shifts needed to be made according to the extensive viewer tracking surveys, regular feedback from viewers, and input from our cable partner". Due to geographical time zones, Thailand is one hour behind the rest of Southeast Asia. Viewers must currently tune in to adventure-reality programming like Fear Factor and The Amazing Race on AXN's X Zone at 7pm, and first-run blockbuster drama series like CSI and The Shield on the Prime Zone at 8pm. Simulating a one hour 'delay', the new service will automatically give viewers in Thailand the exact same time schedule, at one hour later, an opportunity to catch the X Zone and Prime Zone at 8pm and 9 pm respectively. From 3 May catch all your favorite AXN programs one hour later!
