BT appoints first Thai GM to head local operations

Bangkok--Feb 10--BT BT (British Telecommunications plc) today (February 9) announced the appointment of Mr. Somporn Leelasestaporn to the position of General Manager for BT Siam. He succeeds Mr. Ian Lafferty who has been appointed Director for Concert Channel Support for Asia Pacific and Japan, where he will be responsible for business development in the region including Thailand, Japan and the rest of Asia. “These executive appointments at BT Siam are part of the company’s on-going activities to provide worldclass standards of service and a broad array of seamless products to our customers in the Asia-Pacific region including Thailand,” said Mr. Ian Lafferty, who will be taking up his new post at Concert, the leading BT-owned global communications provider.
