Sheraton Grande Upgrades In-house Bandwidth from 2 to 4 Mbps Having already pioneered internet access in the hotel for their business and other guests, making the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit one of the top business hotels in the world, the hotel has once again taken the steps to upgrade its technology.
From July 12, 2005 the hotel will expand its bandwidth from 2 Mbps to 4 Mbps, increasing the power and speed of internet access. This latest move ensures that important corporate clients, business travelers and other web users have the best and fastest possible access to the internet.
The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit has won a number of awards for its efforts in providing internet access ahead of others in the industry, and was the first in Bangkok to provide all rooms with broadband hi-speed internet access. It also led the way in providing wireless internet access for guests outside their rooms.
The introduction of WiFi technology at a stroke broadened the high speed wireless service and allows guests to use their laptops and personal communicators connected to internet services anywhere in the hotel. This new and improved massive bandwidth means guests can download much more information in data form and send bigger files much faster and much easier.
It also enhances the Executive Traveler package which includes complimentary breakfast and complete WiFi and Broadband access.
The basic internet service is also provided as part of the Grande Deluxe room package which includes 24-hour high speed dial-up and all wireless access inside and outside the room, while guests booking a Deluxe Room can specify a tailored net access package.
For other guests, access to the wireless internet link is available by application through the hotel business center.
