Bangkok--Aug 3--Hill & Knowlton
Motorola (Thailand), Mobile Devices Sector today outlined its strategy behind its extensive portfolio of Bluetooth wireless products, which are set to forge new ground in Thailand’s mobility market. Designed for freedom, ease of use and seamless access, Motorola’s innovative and stylish Bluetooth devices are leading the way in wireless connectivity. As part of its portfolio Motorola has raised the bar of hi-tech fashion with the introduction of the RAZRWIRE TM, Motorola Wireless Helmet Headset HS830 and Motorola Bluetooth Stereo Ecosystem. Motorola Thailand’s new distributor, TG Fone will also be officially appointed to accelerate Motorola’s advances.
Recent consumer surveys from IMS Research show that Motorola is gradually growing a leadership position in the Bluetooth Headset global market. “Motorola’s growth in the Bluetooth segment - now already securing over 40% of market share - is attributed to its 75 years rich heritage and history in communications innovation, giving the company today a unique position to develop cutting edge technology. The addition of partnerships with companies such as Oakley makes Motorola a leading design innovator able to provide the very best companion products. We are confident that Motorola can in this way remain ahead of the market," said Ms. Ho Se Mun, Regional Director, Companion Products, Mobile Devices, Southeast Asia.
“Motorola’s new portfolio of Bluetooth products enhances Motorola’s leadership position in the Bluetooth marketplace by providing an ultimate hands-free technology with stunning designs across a range of price levels to fit every lifestyle. Bluetooth is already popular globally as it has become an icon of fashion, enjoying a high growth worldwide, including in Thailand. Bluetooth devices are comparable to pieces of jewellery; in that they reflect personal style — only that in a more modern age. Bluetooth technology gives people
a taste of freedom to wirelessly connect to any Bluetooth enabled devices, such as mobile phones, notebooks, PDAs or printers. In Thailand, we believe our Bluetooth range will be eagerly received and will surely meet the people’ satisfactions,” said Mrs. Chongruk Sakulpakdee, Country Manager (Mobile Devices Sector), Motorola (Thailand).
Mr. Pongsakorn Corvanich, Marketing Manager (Mobile Devices Sector), Motorola (Thailand), added “besides our commitment in providing wireless connectivity solutions we are also preparing a marketing strategy to encourage and expedite the growth of Motorola’s Bluetooth enabled devices, in the form of advertisements and PR campaigns that include our supports for major activities involving active lifestyle and fashion. Because we share the same niche target as BMW, we recently joined BMW Golf Cup International 2005 in cooperation with BMW Group Thailand. Motorola Bluetooth devices will be displayed at this tournament. In addition, we have teamed up with TG Fone, our new distributor to present our Bluetooth range in Motorola Bluetooth roadshow at every major branches of the store.”
According to IMS research, the Bluetooth headset market enjoys healthy growth in Southeast Asia and is expected to grow by 50 percent or more than 1 million units in 2005. Moreover, the Bluetooth phone penetration in Southeast Asia will be close to 9 million Bluetooth phones in 2007.
