Bangkok--Aug 3--Gallery 55
Exhilarating colours, sharp lines & haunting images form the basis of painter cum theatre actor/director THANAGORN TATATHAM’s first solo exhibition titled “EARTH & the city of ANGEL”, which shows at Gallery 55 from 22nd of August through 18th of September.
The artist explored his personal perceptions of the over-development of the city he lives in & its devastating effect on the people through large canvases of surrealism expressions. Twisted forms of human bodies, violated natural landscape, deformed existence & corrupted souls are boldly displayed in this 15 piece-collection of 4-year labour. It is nothing but a far cry from someone who undoubtedly has a deep, special feeling for the city he lives in & the nature he tries to hold on to.
Born in Ubonrachantani in 1973, THANAGORN earned his B.A. in painting from Rajamangala University of Technology. He became an art director & then theatre actor/director after graduation & is currently working with B-FLOOR Theatre Group on various projects.
