Siam City Cement PLC (SCCC), manufacturer of INSEE Cement, under its “As I Wish” campaign, recognizes the Central Institute of Forensic Science Thailand (CIFS) of the Ministry of Justice as an organization that has devoted itself to Tsunami relief but has difficulties in carrying out its work due to a lack of equipment.
Holcim Switzerland and SCCC is donating to the CIFS a specially equipped van that meets FBI standards. Valued at Bt 4 mn, the van will have 19 pieces of equipment including a Handscope xenon light source (with battery) - 14 filler positions, Printquest automated fingerprint/palmprint portable asystem with 3K local database, Bio-foam impression foam system, Castone dental stone - 50 pound, Phenolphthalein presumptive blood test kit, Phath finder dust printer with film, Biology/DND evidence collection kit.
Mr. Leo Mittelhozer, CEO, SCCC said, “We are delighted to donate this first ever forensic van in Thailand to CIFS. Prior to this, Holcim Fund of Switzerland allocated a budget to support organizations involved in helping to rebuild areas damaged by the tsunami. Part of these funds was given through SCCC to arrange for a van to CIFS. We hope CIFS will find it convenient to carry out the work for the Thai people.”
Ms. Chantana Sukumanont, EVP, SCCC added, “SCCC is committed to contributing to society. We have selected people and organizations that make contributions to society but lack facilities. We recognize that the CIFS has done tremendous work for the justice process within Thai society. Its personnel are dedicated and they should be motivated and supported.”
