Bangkok--Aug 22--MDK Consultants
The name Greyhound has been famous in Thailand for 25 years and at the now buzzing Bangkok Fashion Week the brand demonstrated its mettle with a sensational new collection. In 2002 a new label, Playhound, was created to cater for a younger clientele looking for a more caual style comnibed with comfort.
Bhanu Inkawat creative director of Greyhound today spoke of his new
line ‘Grey’, which was presented in yet another dazzling show in The Fashion
Dome. He described it as “a range which utilizes more detail and a higher fabric quality.” He went on to say that “it is intended for the more discerning consumer willing to pay more for trendy clothes.”
The Grey label for 2006 has both men’s and women’s ranges, both are inspired by urban guerrilla rebel groups who fight for their freedom and beliefs. The clothes are a fascinating mix of military style jackets in cotton and linen many with military style buttons and pseudo military insignia as graphic place prints or embroideries but signifying peace as opposed to war. Colours are fairly neutral yet have warmth from the use of rich ochres and siennas, there are many highlights in deep russet and gold Bhanu calls this collection an “evo-revo-lution.”
Whatever it’s called, it looks set to trigger yet another ‘Grey’ revolution.
