Bangkok--Sep 1--Krungthai Card
KTC appears not shaken or stirred by prohibitive fuel prices as fuel-saving caravan is launched. Successive programs planned under which 300 cardholders in Bangkok, Chon Buri and Nakhon Ratchasima will win a free refill; 50 cars daily will have their tank topped free of charge during two months from the 1st of September and the 31st of October 2005; and, 3 Toyota Fortuner SUV’s are up for grasp from now until the end of the year. Combined value of prizes is over 6.7 Million Baht. The firm is confident the campaigns will attract more clients in the long run and continue to encourage spending on fuel via KTC credit cards.
Mr. Woravut Nisapakulthorn, Senior Vice President for Credit Card Business, KTC or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited said “The amount of spending on fuel through credit cards has risen substantially. Given that oil prices will continue to rise, we have attempted to develop privileges that will benefit clients in their daily life. Our past fuel related activities have been well received. This include “0.20 Baht Discount for Every 100 Baht of Fuel”, “Free Gasohol or Diesel for 5 Years by KTC” and “This Refill Paid for by KTC”. The number of KTC card holders increase by approximately 25% following these activities. This has resulted in our securing 17% of market share in fuel refill credit card sector and being the largest credit card company in Thailand with 1.1 million cards issued.”
“KTC is the pioneer this arena. We are the first to have launched fuel related campaigns and we remain ahead of the game with our bold ideas. All of this is to ensure that cardholders and consumers will uninterruptedly enjoy greatest benefits. On this very occasion, we are running 3 activities simultaneously to mitigate the burdens of cardholders in this time of steep oil prices.”
“This first activity is “Fuel-Saving Caravan and Free Refill with KTC for 300 Cars in 3 Provinces for a Total of 300,000 Baht” which focuses on the governmental policy on energy conservation and will be held first in Bangkok, Chon Buri and Nakhon Ratchasima. KTC credit card holders simply can participate simply by calling in to share their innovative fuel-saving method. 100 members with winning and most beneficial ideas from each province or a total of 300 members will be eligible for a free refill. The selected messages will become a part of KTC fuel-saving caravan that will help create awareness among the general public. The caravan will begin in Bangkok on the 30th and the 31st of August, move on to Chon Buri during the 2nd and the 3rd of September and eventually on to Nakhon Ratchasima on the 6th and the 7th of August 2005. The program has attracted over 1,000 members during the four days from the 22nd to the 25th of August 2005. Catchy ideas submitted so far include “Think of fuel price before hitting the gas”, “Drive a bit slower for your well-being and the economy” and “Plan your route well to save fuel.”.
“The second activity “Free Refill for 50 Cars Daily for 2 Months by KTC” where KTC and nine leading fuel companies namely PTT, Bangchak, Shell, Caltex, Esso, Jet, TPI, PT and Petronas invite cardholders to pay for fuel via KTC credit cards at participating stations nationwide for a chance to be among 50 winners daily during two months from the 1st of September to the 31st of October 2005 to have their tank topped for free. Winners will be randomly chosen and KTC will refund the amount of their next refill to their credit card account (maximum of 1,000 Baht). There will be a total of 3,050 prizes worth over 3 Million Baht.”
“The third activity “Win 3 Toyota Fortuner SUV’s” is a program where KTC credit card holders may win themselves one of the 3 Toyota Fortuners —an award-winning SUV and an object of desire of many worth a total of over 3.4 Million Baht. Cardholders will earn one eligibility for every 500 Baht spent on fuel via a KTC credit card from now until the 31st of December 2005.”
“We are certain that all three fuel-oriented activities will prove beneficial to the cardholders by efficiently reducing their burdens. KTC is determined to introduce new innovative activities that involve fuel in the future so that clients may associate KTC with fuel or other daily necessities. It is expected that the amount of spending on fuel via KTC cards will rise as a result of these activities.”, said Mr. Woravut in conclusion.
