The season picks up 3 years later after the end of the second day. Bauer has just put Mexican drug lord in jail and led to the appearance of a dead body, infected with a deadly virus, in front of the Los Angeles Health Unit. The drug lord’s brother plans to blackmail the government with a biological weapon in turn for the kingpin’s release. The situation becomes tense as the President runs for re-election and his girlfriend withholds important information. Everyone seems to have their own conspiracy as Bauer races against time to prove what may be his last day
