Bangkok Bank Director Damrong Krishnamara has resigned all his positions at the Bank to take a well-deserved break. Chairman Chatri Sophonpanich hosted a farewell luncheon for him at Bangkok Bank’s head office in Silom.
Mr. Damrong was one of the country’s most outstanding bankers in a career, which spanned several decades. He was chosen as “Banker of the Year” by Money and Banking Magazine in 1988 and received an honorary doctorate in Accounting from Thammasat University in 1989. He was appointed by the King to head the honors committee of Thammasat University Council in 1997.
Mr. Damrong joined Bangkok Bank in 1953 and became a member of the executive board in 1971. After his retirement in 1999, Mr. Damrong became an Independent Director and the Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. He resigned from all positions on July 29.
