Bangkok--Sep 8--DTAC
Central Watson Co.,Ltd., represented by Chief Operating Officer, Dr.Chatrchai Tuongratanaphan, signed a service contract for DTAC PushMail today with Mr. Sigve Brekke, Co-CEO of DTAC. Through the launch of DTAC PushMail in early July this year, DTAC pioneers the commercialisation in Thailand of the solution that uses Push Technology to deliver mail and calendar information from corporate email servers to end users’ mobile devices.
A DTAC partnership with SEVEN, Nokia and O2, DTAC PushMail enables corporate employees to have wireless access to corporate email on the go, via DTAC’s nationwide GPRS network. The service is also available over DTAC’s EDGE network in Greater Bangkok. A.S.Watson Group (ASW) meanwhile operates Asia’s most extensive health and beauty retail chain with over 6,500 stores across the globe in 31 countries and a workforce of 87,000.
Elaborating on the contract signed today, Dr. Chatrchai said : “This contract covers 33 numbers used by executives and staff for maximum efficiency by having access to email services, fixing appointments through mobile phones and PDAs which we at Watson consider essential tools for our work. The service will place us one step ahead of our business competitors because our staff won’t miss essential information from clients even while they’re on the go. Clients can, for instance, summon our staff who are stuck in traffic for an urgent marketing conference. The End-to-End 128 — bit AES Encryption system ensures secure communications. In addition, the 2:1 compression technology helps to save the cost and download time by half.”
Sunti Medhavikul, Chief Commercial Officer of DTAC said the contract signed today with an internationally-known company speaks volume about the practicality and reliability of DTAC PushMail solution. “The fact that other service providers launch similar products to the market in our trail strengthens our confidence that DTAC PushMail is the right answer to the corporate solution needs that clients have been waiting for. DTAC has the necessary infrastructure to make DTAC PushMail an unrivalled answer to corporate needs, ranging from the functional GPRS network, EDGE network as well as an international roaming network that links 96 operators in 48 countries worldwide. “
This latest addition to the range of corporate solutions that DTAC pioneered in Thailand forms part of the crucial strategy to respond to growing Non-Voice service demands. The growth rate of DTAC’s corporate solutions segment has doubled this year compared to the same period last year. DTAC offers after-sales service operated by a contingent of over 20 consultants with high caliber.
Mr Sunti adds that DTAC PushMail has won the trust of corporate clients during the test period including Kasikorn Bank, Siam Cement Group and SIS Distribution.
