The first ever Family Edition of The Amazing Race turns up the heat with families on the hot plate, racing across the world for the grand $1 million prize.
On AXN (Ch.19, UBC), the heart of action and adventure television, The Amazing Race has upped the amp with double the trouble! Feisty Flo and Zach and sly Rob and Amber move over. The family edition of The Amazing Race will have 10 teams, comprising families of four, fighting it out for the million dollar prize. With twice the drama, their fights will most likely make the backstabbing and conniving in past seasons seem like child’s play. We’ve seen the breakdowns and quarrels that arise when partners are stuck with each other’s company for weeks. How will families racing around the globe get through any better? Find out as AXN airs the brand new season within 24 hours of the U.S. broadcast.
In this 8th installment of the outstanding and double Emmy Award winning adventure reality series, The Amazing Race, 10 family teams will have to put up with each other for approximately 30 days while beating other groups to the finishing line. There will definitely not be a lack of tension, catfights and heart-breaking moments while the clock ticks on!
The families taking part in this mad scramble are an eclectic mix of fathers, daughters, son-in-laws, wives and sons with different driving agendas behind them. The youngest contestant comes from the Black family. At the tender age of 8 years old, Austin Black is an advanced brown belt Tae Kwan Do holder who hopes to gain his black belt in the near future.
Another gutsy team, the Aiello family is placing their family relations on the line. Three sons-in-law are teaming up with their father-in-law to form the Aiello team. Tony Aiello was so compelled by his curiosity to see how his sons-in-law fare in the competition that he is leading them on their first official trip without the wives around. Like the Blacks and Aiellos, will the families survive the acid test of competing together and prove that blood will always be thicker than water? See it on AXN.
The 2 hour Asia Premiere of The Amazing Race Family Edition is on 28th September at 8pm.
