The appointment is only for temporary to assist EGAT Public Company Limited’s success on private fund mobilization as planned.
The Resolution of Board of Directors of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited (RATCH) on September 19, 2005 has approved the appointment of Mr. Boonchoo Direcksthapon, Managing Director, to assist the full-time duty as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of EGAT Public Company Limited to facilitate EGAT’s fund mobilization on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). This assignment will help EGAT achieve on the fund mobilization in accordance with the privatization plan. The appointment is effective on October 1, 2005 and until the EGAT’s privatization plant is succeeded which will be approximately the mid of November 2005.
For the regularity and continuity of management, the Company’s Board of
Director has appointed Mr. Thawat Vimolsarawong, Deputy Managing Director Business Ventures, to the position of Acting Managing Director during the period which Mr. Boonchoo has been called to carry out his duty at EGAT.
As the Chief Financial Officer of EGAT, Mr. Boonchoo will be in charge of
the entire EGAT’s financial and accounting planning, monitoring, and controlling activities in cooperation with fund mobilizing plan to its completion especially the financial presentation or Road Show to foreign investors. Nonetheless, the assignment of Mr.Boonchoo at EGAT is just temporary and will be concluded when EGAT has completed its listing in SET.
Mr. Boonchoo is currently 59 years old. graduated bachelor degree in
Accounting with second class honor from Chulalongkorn University. He has been certified as an Associated Chartered Accountant and Fellow Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He has also received the Diploma of Finance for Senior Executive Course and Program for Management Development (PMD) from Harvard Business School, U.S.A.
With over 30 years at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Mr. Boonchoo is a well respected both domestically and internationally as an expert in accounting and finance of Thailand power industry. He is the driving force behind the success of Ratchaburi power plant for private funding mobilization in 2000. The program is a part of EGAT’s privatization plan.
Prior to be appointed as Acting CFO of EGAT, and become Managing Director
of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL., Mr. Boonchoo was EGAT’s Deputy Governor of Accounting and Finance, and Acting Deputy Governor of Administration.
