DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (eTurboNews) -- As Umrah (mini-pilgrimage to Makkah) season gets in to full mode in Ramadan (which began Tuesday/Wednesday in this part of the world), Emirates has activated a special 24-hour hotline in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide hassle-free customer service.
Established to serve Umrah travelers, Emirates' hotline number (800-8-971-487) is to operate round the clock between October 1 and November 1. The number is toll-free for customers calling from Jeddah, Makkah and Medinah.
The same facility will also be made available to the Emirates' passengers during the Hajj season, which starts in early 2006.
Emirates' Umrah hotline will allow customers to conveniently receive information relating to Emirates' flights, book their travel, request special services, or make changes to their travel itineraries.
"The Umrah is a unique spiritual experience for Muslims," Emirates Senior VP for Commercial Operations Gulf, Middle East and Iran, Hamad Obaidalla, said. "Emirates is pleased to offer a dedicated hotline during this period to provide an added convenience to our customers and assist them in their specific travel requirements.
"We would like to wish all the customers a rewarding Umrah in advance."
In addition to the five-a-week scheduled services between Dubai and Jeddah, Emirates will serve Umrah travelers with additional flights during Ramadan. Customers may call the hotline for more information.
