Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya recently hailed its first “Battle of the Bands” Champion — “By-Heart”. The band bested three other finalists during the “Graduation Day” Grand Finals held on 14 October 2005.
“By-Heart” members include Passakorn Wannasin (Vocals) of Ramkhamhaeng University, Tawan Kanjiek (Lead Guitar), Chartree Srichantamith (Bass) and Pisan Srisuphap (Drums) of Rajabhat Ratchanakarin University.
Aside from the distinction of being the winner of Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya’s first-ever “Battle of the Bands”, “By-Heart” also took home prizes in cash, high-end musical equipment and instruments, songwriting courses from Gen-X Academy, Hard Rock Cafe merchandise and premiums from sponsors all worth around THB 230,000. The band competition offered over THB 400,000 in prizes for the three winning bands.
As a spectacular bonus, popular Thai musicians and actors John, Kong and Joe Nuvo made a rare performance at the event with their “JKJ & Friends” band much to delight of the full-packed crowd.
“Battle of the Bands” 2005 coincided with Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya’s 4th Anniversary which was also celebrated on the night of the Grand Finals and in line with efforts of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the local government to promote the City of Pattaya as “the city of music festivals”.
