As part of its ongoing efforts to promote innovation and growth in the IT industry around the region, the Business Software Alliance (BSA) today announced its upcoming Regional Innovation Forum 2005, which it will host in November at Putrajaya in Malaysia. The event will draw government participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
With the intent of bringing leading thinkers and visionaries together from around the globe, the forum will act as a sounding board for speakers and participants to discuss important global policy and industry issues, as well as societal trends. The alliance has been organizing global and national technology summits since 2001, with resounding success.
The Regional Innovation Forum 2005 is the first in a series of interactive roundtable discussions organized by BSA, focused on providing a platform for regional government officials and industry players to exchange views on matters relating to competitiveness, interoperability and economic growth.
Leading academics, policy researchers, legal experts, technical specialists and government officials from Asia, Europe and the United States will convene to discuss the future of technology in Asia. The meeting will offer the region’s policy makers an opportunity to share their differing perspectives and past experiences, as well as gain a deeper knowledge from recognized industry experts with regards to best practices in the development of IT strategies.
“The forum is meant to bring together a core number of IT policy makers from key markets in the Southeast Asia region, to share insights on the underlying policy issues and considerations related to the development of a competitive IT industry,” said BSA’s President and CEO, Mr Robert Holleyman, who will also be attending the Forum. “Through an interactive roundtable discussion, we intend to help the government officials gain better insight and appreciation of the strategies that can be adopted in their respective economies to bolster the growth of the IT industry,” Holleyman added.
