Bangkok--Oct 28--PR & Associates
The Marketing Association of Thailand (MAT), the Public Relations Society of Thailand (PRST), the Advertising Association of Thailand (AAT), the Thailand Marketing Research Society (TMRS), and the Thai Direct Selling Association (TDSA) plan to collaborate in order to help strengthen Thai business in these uncertain times.
MAT president Dr. Lackana Leelayouthayotin, PRST president Chaiwath Sitachitta, AAT president Chaipranin Visudhipol, TMRS president Daranee Charoen-Rajapark, and TDSA president Preecha Prakobkit jointly announced their professional bodies are to work together in order to enhance their roles and to develop their professions in preparation for the economic and social changes expected in the coming year.
The executives and boards of the five associations have agreed that collaboration is fundamental to the creation of valuable business and social activities both for career development and to make an effective contribution to society. The joint activities should motivate association members to participate fully in the exchange of opinions and to thus contribute to this vision for the future, which has been made especially important by the current uncertain economic environment.
This collaboration will strengthen the capabilities of every participating association, each of which is responsible for the development of the ethics of its members in their respective profession. It also focuses on the importance of activities that give something back to society and promote education. Furthermore, the collaboration will reflect the abilities of the five associations to increase their involvement in the public arena in order to affect the direction of national policies. It should thereby become a key factor in social development.
An example of this collaboration is the upcoming seminar, “Beware Of The Dog (Year)-Change For The Future 3”, to be held November 10, 2005, at the Imperial Queens Park Hotel, Bangkok, from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
This “Changes For The Future 3” seminar will host experts and executives from prominent national organizations who will share their visions and strategies in response to the current economic crisis and to future challenges. Dr Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, will focus on “Where is the Thai Economy Headed?” in the face of changes in Thailand and the world. Following that, in “Ultimate Wireless Business Strategies”, Mr. Sigve Brekke, CEO of DTAC, and Mr Vichai Bencharongkul, former Co-CEO of DTAC, will suggest marketing strategies to be employed in a fiercely competitive market. Mr. Tan Passakornnatee, President and CEO of the Oishi Group Plc., will discuss “How to Adjust Strategies in Response to Change”.
Marketing research, advertising and public relations play an important role in business success. This seminar will also host experts with hands-on experience. In “Know How to Encompass Consumers”, Dr. Kreaovan Limapichat, President of INFOSEARH will provide insights into a new concept that focuses on consumer thinking during an economic recession. Following that, Mrs Charuvarn Vanasin, Chairman of Lowe Ltd. will once again expound on the position of “Thailand and Its New Role as a Regional Leader”.
The last session of the seminar will be a round-table discussion on various strategies that can be used quickly in business management. “Hook Your Customers with Cross-Marketing Strategies” by business veterans from top companies, led by Mr. Preecha Prakobkit, Managing Director of Amway (Thailand) Ltd., Mr. Kriengsak Tantiphipop, Managing Director of The Emporium Shopping Complex, Mr. Arnut Changtrakul, Vice President of the Thai Samsung Electronics, and Mr. Patee Sarasin, CEO of Nok Air.
“This seminar is a good start for this planned collaboration. Next year will be a tough one for the Thai economy and for local businesses. If the five associations can encourage their members to prepare well, we believe that every small business can cope. The operation of those small businesses will be more cautious and the economy as a whole will certainly benefit from that,” explained Dr. Lackana.
“The next step is to continue the network of the five associations comprising of many top national business people. This collaboration will help and support local development and career training for business operators at many levels, particularly at the grassroots across the country. Manufacturing needs to improve its capabilities in order to compete internationally and the country needs a clear competitive strategy. The five associations will play a crucial role in this,” Dr. Lackana concluded.
