Bangkok--Nov 1--Thana Burin Asia Pacific
Exhibiting in a robust economy underscores the importance of Thailand’s favored location for automative and Building industries
With a floor area of 10,000 sqm, GlassTech Asia 2005, scheduled for 30 November to 2 December 2005 at Impact Arena Exhibition & Convention Centre, far exceeds its previous show in Singapore two years ago. With the Asean economy growing after a plateau, it is apt that more companies are taking this opportunity to showcase their products and further build mind-share.
Statistics indicate that world demand for flat glass is set to increase by 3.9% annually, to more than 44.1 billion square feet in 2006. Flat glass production is forecasted to increase 4.4% per year to 41.8 million metric tons in 2006.
The rest of Asia is also poised for growth. Brunei, China, Indonesia and Vietnam are just some of the countries who have made conditions favourable for the glass industry to thrive. Thailand’s GDP growth of 7% in 2003, coupled with their direct derived demand for the glass reinforcement market made the country ideal to host this year’s exhibition.
With an unprecedented number of companies eager to cash in on Asean’s growth and proximity to the rest of Asia, 244 exhibitors from 27 countries have committed to a gross exhibition area of 10,000 sqm. Industry giants like AGC Flat Glass Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Bohle, Bottero, Bystronic Machinen AG, Dow Corning, DuPont Company, Glassrobots, Hegla, Lisec Shanghai Glass Machinery Co Ltd, Malaysia Sheet Sdn Bhd, Saint Gobain, Sika Engineering, Solutia Inc., Tamglass Bavelloni and Vesuvius Glass will be participating at the largest glass-related exhibition in Asean.
GlassTech Asia 2005 is hosted by the Thai Glass Dealers Association (TGDA). The event is also supported by Thailand Convention Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) as well as international bodies, including Peninsula Malaysia Glass & Mirrors Dealers Association (PPKCSM), Philippines Chamber of Glass & Aluminium Ind Inc (PCGAI), Australian Glass & Glazing Association (AGGA), Italian Association of Glass-Processing Machinery and Accessory Suppliers (GIMAV), Glass & Glazing Federation(GGF) and National Glass Association (NGA).
