Hawaii Tourism Korea (HTK) and the U.S. Embassy finalized the Hawaii Honeymoon program to ease U.S. Visa requirements for Korean honeymooners going to Hawaii. The Embassy has agreed to launch a pilot program with six major travel agents (Lotte Travel, Hanjin Travel, Sejoong Travel, Hyundai Dream Tour, SK Tourvis, and Pan Korea Travel). The six pre0- approved travel agents will be given the privilege to pre-screen visa applicants (i.e. confirm that applicants are in fact going to get married). Applicants who apply through these agents will be able to obtain a U.S. Visa in less than one month, compared to the current two to three months. If the pilot program goes smoothly, the U.S. Embassy will consider expanding the number of pre-approved travel agents.
