Bangkok--Nov 3--Thai Airways
In the company’s most comprehensive ever promotion, Thai Airways has chosen CNN as its media partner for a new 360 degree advertising campaign promoting the airline’s new Bangkok-Moscow route.
The integrated campaign takes the Russian cultural icon of Imperial Ballet as its theme and airs across CNN International’s Asia-Pacific feed and in Thai Airways’ in-flight programming. An online competition features business class tickets to Moscow as prizes and the partnership theme is further complemented by CNN’s on the ground sponsorship of the Russian Imperial Ballet’s four day visit to Singapore.
“This multi-platform partnership allows Thai Airways to reach an upscale audience in a remarkable variety of ways” said Junji Sumitani, Sales Director, CNN Advertising Sales South East Asia. “CNN has consistently offered the audience of upscale, well-traveled decision-makers that advertisers seek and we are delighted to work alongside Thai Airlines in this truly unique package featuring on air, online, in-flight and event elements,” he added.
“Thai Airways International are delighted to be partnering with CNN to promote our new Bangkok-Moscow non-stop route” said Serm Phenjati, Director, Advertising Department, Thai Airways International. “CNN provides the perfect platform to capture and deliver the essence of our message and the 360 degree marketing program they proposed effectively captures our target customers at multiple touch points, whether they are at home, on-the-road, at work, or in-flight,” he added.
Airing from October 12 until the end of the year, the television dimension of the campaign consists of a 90 second vignette to air on CNN and across Thai Airways’ in-flight programming. The vignette features a ballerina with the Russian Imperial Ballet showcasing some of the tourist sites of Moscow, while the online campaign continues the theme with a competition with Thai Airways business class tickets to Moscow as the prize. CNN is also the international media partner of the Imperial Ballet in Singapore who are to be flown by Thai Airways before performing from November 5-8.
