Synopsis: Rome wasn’t built in a day — and neither is Rome, the newest HBO Original Series. Filmed at a cost of $100 million, a staggering amount to be spent for television programming, writer/ co-creator/ executive producer Bruno Heller says this epic series is about the city “from the point of view of ordinary people caught up in the extraordinary events of that time." Ancient history has been researched thoroughly in an effort to bring realism and authenticity to the spectacle that will unfold in this 12-part series. Interviews with Heller, director Michael Apted and the cast provide a vivid introduction to the infrastructure, nuances, and complexities of a city that was the epicenter of a once-great empire.
