Korea National Tourism Organization, Dubai and Cathay Pacific, Riyadh recently organized an educational trip to Korea for a group of leading travel agents from Riyadh. This was the first major travel agents delegation from Saudi Arabia to visit Korea since the opening of KNTO's office in Dubai in December 2004.
The agents were on a seven-day trip covering Seoul, Korea's ultra-modern capital city and Jeju, the paradise island also known as the "Hawaii of the Orient". The tour started off on a royal note, with the visitors witnessing the spectacular changing of the guard ceremony at the Gyeongbokung Palace. This was followed by visits to the legendary Blue House, Korean Folk Village, Everland theme park, Yongsan electronics market and the shopping markets of Itaewon and Myeondong.
On their next stop, the agents visited Jeju Island, Korea's popular resort island, which is a short flight away from Seoul. Here the agents stayed at a beach front property with panoramic view of the ocean, within the Jungmun Resort Complex. The resort complex offers a unique holiday experience in itself, with spectacular locations such as waterfalls, botanical gardens, craters, mountain peaks and a convention centre all within the complex. Apart from its scenic locations and stunning natural beauty, the complex is filled with some modern entertainment venues and options such as the Dolphin and Sea Lion Show, the Volcano Show, Teddy Bear Museum etc. Stepping into the Teddy Bear Museum, which is a delightful experience for children, was a trip down memory lane for the visitors.
