TT&T, provider of telecommunication services outside the greater Bangkok metropolitan area, today announced its 2005 performance and the strategy for next year, with greater investment planned mainly in ADSL broadband internet expansion. The company will also promote its Maxnet broadband internet package with the “Maxnet Kool Gang” nationwide roadshow.
Prachuab Tantinon, President of TT&T Public Co Ltd, said, “TT&T always focuses on providing advanced telecommunication services including Maxnet ADSL broadband internet, as well as getting in touch with our customers through entertaining activities. We have also been involved in many local and international events.”
During this year, TT&T has provided telecommunication services in the Miss Universe 2005 contest, and has been a sponsor of MonoFilm’s “The Tiger Blade” and albums of RS Promotion’s artists. The company also facilitated the report of election results through websites and participated in international tourism and IT seminars.
As for performance in 2005, the company has faced a price war with mobile phone service providers since the second quarter of the year, resulting in decreased revenue, but the company remains confident with regard to its direction. According to Mr Prasitchai Kritsanayunyong, Senior Vice President, Head of Finance & Accounting Department, TT&T will invest an additional 3,000-3,500 billion baht focusing on the enhancement of broadband internet services and expansion of broadband customer base from 80,000 by the end of this year to 200,000 — 300,000 next year. The company is also open for partnership with online content providers and technological supporters.
“The larger number of broadband customers is in accordance with our new revenue structure in which the main source of income will be the Internet services instead of the fixed-line telephone services, at the proportion of 50% by 2008. TT&T has also applied for a type-3 operating license from the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) and we expect to gain it in the first quarter of 2006,” said Mr Prasitchai.
TT&T has also promoted Maxnet, launched in July 2005, with its ‘Maxnet KoolGang’ campaign in the provincial area. The campaign will set out to raise awareness of the proper use of the internet among students and the public, and promote Maxnet broadband internet. TT&T also led the press and media to observe and participate in the Maxnet KoolGang activities at Jintarangsi School in Trang province.
Suroj Lamsam, Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing and Services Group of TT&T, said, “Maxnet KoolGang is aimed to enhance knowledge about high speed internet in educational institutions, private and public organizations and the general public. With this campaign, we hope to strengthen our relations with the community and help develop Thailand’s human resources in IT know-how.”
Regarding the company’s new product, T-Net 1626, Mr Suroj said, “Maxnet has been warmly received and we want to expand our internet services and provide more choices for people all over Thailand, so we launched T-Net 1626 dial-up internet with the bandwidth of 56 Kbps. This internet package is available for both our fixed-line customers and others, at only 590 baht fee per three months.”
“TT&T has firm commitment to provide best quality telecommunication services for customers in Thailand, in which we operate almost 1.5 million fixed-line numbers. Having access to the Internet, they will benefit from online information from every part of the world,” concluded Mr Prachuab Tantinon.
