Thai Airways International Public Company Limited will arrange special flights to transport Thai Muslims to participate in the Haj, a Muslim Pilgrimage, during 6 December 2005 to 31 January 2006.
Mr. Somchainuk Engtrakul, Member of the Board of Directors Acting as President, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, said that THAI will operate 13 special flights for over 6,000 Thai Muslims who will participate in the Haj Pilgrimage in Makkah, Saudi Arabia on the route Hat Yai — Jeddah v.v. at 11 flights and on the route Phuket — Jeddah v.v. at 2 flights utilizing Boeing 747-300 aircraft, details as follows.
Hat Yai — Jeddah v.v. : at 11 flights
Departing Flights: On 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and December 2005
- Depart from Hat Yai at 18:00 hours
Arrive in Jeddah at 22:50 hours (local time)
Returning Flights: On 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 January 2006
- Depart from Jeddah at 18:00 hours (local time)
Arrive in Hat Yai at 06:05 hours (next day)
Phuket — Jeddah v.v. : at 2 flights
Departing Flights: On 18 and 19 December 2005
- Depart from Phuket at 18:00 hours
Arrive in Jeddah at 22:50 hours (local time)
Returning Flights: On 30 and 31 January 2006
- Depart from Jeddah at 18:00 hours (local time)
Arrive in Phuket at 06:05 hours (next day)
THAI is fully prepared to facilitate the travel needs of an anticipated more than 6,000 Thai Muslim passengers who will travel to participate in the Haj, with special arrangements made for Thai Muslim passengers traveling for the Haj during this period. In order to facilitate passengers’ comfort and convenience, THAI has also arranged special ground and inflight services to assist passengers traveling with THAI during this period. Services provided will include assistance from ground staff at the final destination, special Halal meals, medical kits, and inflight information guides that will be available to passengers. In addition, the company’s cabin crew are trained in basic emergency care to assist the elderly in case special assistance may be needed on board. End.
