Acer Computer Co., Ltd. held the largest market share in notebook shipments in Thailand (from 2003 to present), Malaysia and Indonesia, according to IDC. In the Thai market, Acer captured 38% share in the third quarter of 2005, up 6% from the second quarter, contributing to the company’s leadership in the overall IT market with 20% share. Acer targets its notebook market share to 40% and retains its leadership in the fourth quarter, with a year-end promotion dubbed “Let’s Celebrate Acer Number 1”.
