The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Thai Investors’ Association (TIA) initiate their investor promotion activities by hosting two back-to-back events on Jan. 7 — 9. The Thai Investors’ Day will be on Jan. 7 — 8 at the SET Building, while on Jan. 9, the Analysts Fair 2006 will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. A collection of stock research reports will be given to those holding invitation cards attained from brokerage companies.
The SET announced that to enlarge the investor base in 2006 it would host several activities in Bangkok and the provinces focusing on helping people get better equipped with all they need for making investments. Ms. Sopawadee Lertmanaschai, Executive Vice President of the SET, reported, “This year, the SET will be working even closer with other organizations in the capital market, focusing on providing even more access to information. We will coordinate with all relevant organizations to create a network so that all interested persons can access essential and useful information. In 2006, the SET will host a minimum of 30 events in Bangkok, 7 upcountry, and 1 abroad.”
The first activity in 2006 will be the Thai Investors’ Day, a regularly event scheduled for every first weekend of the month. This month it’ll fall on Jan. 7 — 8. The aim is to help investors become better prepared early in the year. There will be several interesting seminars, booths and exhibitions by 27 firms and organizations in the capital market. Also at the event will be a special ‘stock clinic’ and products of the listed companies available for sale. The event should serve as a real central market for investors.

The ‘Analysts Fair 2006’ will take place on January 9, 2006 from 8:30 — 17:30 hrs. at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. This is the 4th year for this event, which showcase about 30 leading analysts in one place. These experts will share their prospects on the Thai stock market in 2006 in over 10 seminar sessions.
Event highlights will include in-depth information about Thai stocks from both Thai and foreign securities analysts. The ‘stock clinic’ held by 390 registered analysts from 23 securities houses will be available from 13:00 — 17:00 hrs.
